This month we went through the area on both sides of the Glover track checking for weeds. Then it was maintenance of the grasses we planted in August last year above the Weerona Trail. It was decided to keep the plastic ‘sleeves’ protecting  the plants in place for another year.

Then we had one of the windiest days of the year, on the Sunday we were supposed to go bird watching. The activity had to be cancelled. However, our ‘birdman’ Denis Abbott has agreed to do it in October.

There has been some confusion about the name of the area below the Weerona trail. We used to call it Providence Rivulet Gully, but the rivulet is quite ephemeral, and it is only a tributary to Providence Valley Rivulet. So we have decided to call the area Weerona Gully. It seems more appropriate.

Sadly Guri, the bush carer I mentioned in an e-mail, passed away. There will be a story about him in the next Bandicoot Times.
