This month we started at the end of Poets Rd. and we checked both sides of the Glover Track for gorse, broom, blackberries and fox glove. We also had a good look at the quarry face that was cleared, and shifted some of the off cuts. All agreed that the money well spent on the removal of gorse and bone seed from the rock face.
Then it was on to area KR 22, along the extension of Forest Rd. towards the tip. There we worked on small gorse, small hawthorn, thistles and forget- me- nots. Just below this area there is a ‘right-of- way’ from Forest Rd. down to Louden St. in South Hobart. It comes out in the driveway of no. 15 Louden St. the track has been partly blocked by the drive way, but it is council land.
On the following Sunday a few of us joined the South Hobart Bushcare group, and worked on removing gorse and Spanish Heath from this ‘right-of-way’. FoKL could possibly have an activity there later in the year.
