Our first activity went well and we weeded re-growth of gorse, boneseed, thistles, forget-me-nots etc. either side of the Weerona trail.
At morning coffee time Greg Milne from COH was able to joined us, and we talked about a possible seating arrangement near the Bandicoot corridor.
Then the COVID-19 hit a gain and we had a snap lock-down, so the bird watch and the plant-give-away were cancelled.
The last activity of the month fell on Hobart Show Day, ( we missed that in our annual planning!)
However, as most of our Thursday group consist of retired people, the public holidays are not so important, and they still wanted to work.
So we had a good morning clearing around the grasses we planted almost 18 month ago.
Denis Abbott, our bird guide, has been checking out the reserve a couple of times.
He feels an afternoon may be just as good as a morning, and has agreed to do the bird watch on Sunday 21st Nov., third time lucky?
So on that day we will first have the bird watch, and then the special afternoon coffee/tea, catered for by the COH, (our annual X-mas gift).
And at 4 pm it will be the PLANT – GIVE – AWAY.
